Maison de la Danse and Biennale de Lyon are pleased to announce the arrival of their new director, the Portuguese Tiago Guedes, since 1 September 2022. He has taken over the position after Dominique Hervieu took over the cultural direction of the 2024 Olympic Games.

Tiago Guedes has directed the Rivoli Teatro Municipal in Porto for the last 8 years and created the DDD (Dies da Dança) festival in 2016. He graduated from the Higher School of Dance of the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon in 2000 and worked as a dancer and choreographer from 2001 to 2013.

In his project " ON (L)Y Danse - a future shared for dance in Lyon ", Tiago Guedes proposes to give a common identity to the Maison de la Danse, the Biennale de Lyon and the future Ateliers de la Danse. He advocates a strong territorial anchoring and an increasing presence of artists in Lyon through the creation of an artistic community that will be involved in all the different activities of ON (L)Y Danse.

His proposal to create a production center will allow the Maison de la Danse, the Biennale de Lyon and the Ateliers de la Danse to become an ambitious artistic center and put the support of creation and European and international influence at the heart of their activities.
