For its 32nd edition, Tanz im August (Berlin, Germany) took place over ten days in a "special edition".

To conform with health regulations due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the festival presented online and outdoor works by artists from its original line-up as well as newly invited artists. With the open format Meet the Artist, artists gave an insight into their practices with audio choreographies, digital discussion forums, texts, films and online performances. Many of the works were followed by streamed artist talks and live Q&As.
