In 2015 and 2016, EDN reflected on the history and development of dancehouses in Europe.
The Atelier “History of Dancehouses in Europe” (May 2015) gathered different professionals who worked together to discuss topics and establish an editorial board for a future publication. In August 2015, EDN gathered in Bassano del Grappa to reflect further on this topic.
While there was no publication released at this end of this research trajectory, the documentation of both Atelier provides ample lines to understand how the dancehouses came to be, and what need of the ecosystem they fullfil.
