Politics of Care

The (UN) conference, on the question of sustainability in relation to artistic production between autonomy and participation, hosted a keynote by Else Kransny. In Planetary Perspectives + Politics of Care, she asked: Has sustainability become the ruling leitmotif? Is sustainable the sequence to modern?

Taking its point of departure from the year 1972 that witnessed the two publications The limits to growth, by the Club of Rome, and Barbara Ward’s and René Dubois’ Only One Earth: The Care and Maintenance of a Small Planet, the lecture traced sustainability as both, a politico-environmental concept and call to action.
