The new call for Culture Moves Europe Individual Mobility is now open. This scheme offers grants to artists and cultural professionals who want to work on a project in another Creative Europe country.

What is the purpose of the funding?

The Individual Mobility Action of Culture Moves Europe provides financial support to artists and cultural professionals who wish to carry out a mobility project in another Creative Europe country, in collaboration with an international partner (either an organisation or an individual).

Through this action, Culture Moves Europe aims to support artists and cultural professionals to develop their careers internationally, learning and cooperating beyond borders. Applicants are free to choose who they want to work with, as well as the outline and goals of their project.

This scheme covers the following sectors: Architecture; Cultural Heritage; Design & Fashion Design; Literature; Music; Performing Arts; Visual Arts.

Who can apply?

Artists and cultural professionals, who are:

  • Legally residing in one of the Creative Europe countries, including the overseas countries and territories and outermost regions.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Active in one of the following sectors: architecture, cultural heritage, design and fashion design, literature, music, performing arts, and visual arts; No specific level of experience is required.
  • The call for individual mobility is open to applications from individuals and groups of up to 5 people.

What will be funded?

  • One artistic or cultural project to be carried out in another Creative Europe country, with the support of an international partner. This project must follow 2 of the following 3 objectives: to learn, to create, to explore, or to connect.
  • One international partner collaborates with the artists and cultural professionals during the project implementation. Applicants chose their own international partners, which can be an individual or an organisation.

How much can you apply for?

  • Daily allowance: €85 per day of project implementation.
  • Travel allowance: travel distance under 5,000 km -> €400; travel distance from 5,000 km -> €800. The travel distance is calculated automatically in the application form, based on a one-way straight line.

The grant offers additional funding, if applicable:

  • Top-ups: Green mobility top-up: €400
  • Overseas countries and territories / Outermost regions top-up: €175
  • Family top-up: €200 per child
  • Visa top-up: €120
  • Accessibility support:€30 per day of project implementation
  • Either the actual cost or a fixed allowance for personal assistance or sign language interpretation, depending on the assistant’s professional status.

This funding stream is managed and administered by the Goethe Institut. To apply, you must create an account on the Goethe Application Portal. Register as an 'individual' even if you are a group, then select Culture Moves Europe funding' and then select 'Call for individual mobility.'

Application deadlines

The new call opened on 1 October 2025 and has rolling monthly deadlines with the first deadline being 31 October 2025 and the last being 30 April 2026.
