Lokomotiva (MK) organised its first International Summer School “Curating in Context”, from August 25 to September 5, 2020 as part of the two-year project realised in partnership with the Stockholm University of Arts, the University of Zagreb (Faculty of Dramatic Art) and Tanzfabrik Berlin, supported by Erasmus+.

The International Summer School “Curating in Context” aims to critically reflect and address different socio-political and economic contexts, and to develop curatorial methods to rethink the contemporary practices of performing arts in relation to activism, social movements and self-organization.

While the school's content was mostly for the local participants, two public discussions were recorded and are very relevant for the European contemporary dance professionals:

• lecture by Goran Pavlić (Croatia) on the topic: “To Queer or Not to Queer: A Non-Normative Approach to Curating”
• discussion moderated by Biljana Tanurovska-Kjulavkovski and Slavcho Dimitrov (North Macedonia) with: Marijana Cvetković (Serbia), Jasna Jasna Žmak (Croatia), Rok Vevar (Slovenia) and Jasmina Založnik (Slovenia) on the topic: “Crisis Ordinary, Systematic Crisis and the Future of Knowledge in the Context of the COVID-19 Pandemic and its Aftermath”.
