Reflections on contemporary practices of performing arts in relation to activism, social movements and self-organization

Lokomotiva (MK) organised its first International Summer School “Curating in Context”, from August 25 to September 5, 2020 as part of the two-year project realised in partnership with the Stockholm University of Arts, the University of Zagreb (Faculty of Dramatic Art) and Tanzfabrik Berlin, supported by Erasmus+.

The International Summer School “Curating in Context” aims to critically reflect and address different socio-political and economic contexts, and to develop curatorial methods to rethink the contemporary practices of performing arts in relation to activism, social movements and self-organization.

While the school's content was mostly for the local participants, two public discussions were recorded and are very relevant for the European contemporary dance professionals:

Transnational laboratory without travelling

This Tipperary Dance Platform initiative is an international place for investigation and research, without travelling. A brand new way to work together: ten venues, organisations and festivals across Europe, eight dance studios, nine mentors host eight groups of dancers.
