Trans Europe Halles (TEH) is organizing ‘Diversity in Dance’ during the Africa-Europe Week (Feb 14-18, 2022), an event that hosts a panel of speakers and film screening of important and enjoyable films.
Diversity in Dance happens 14 Feb 11:00 to 13:00 Brussels Time. The announced panel speakers are choreographer, educator and performer Israel Aloni from ilDance, choreographer, dancer and director of ‘IN-OUT DANCE FESTIVAL’ Aguibou Sanou from Burkina Faso, and DanceAbility Trainer, choreographer and dancer Vera Rosner from Austria.
Speakers bring rich experiences in working with African and European dancers from LGBTQI+ community, young dancers, dancers in prisons and dancers with mixed abilities.
The panel is moderated by dancer and curator Kopano Maroga from Cape-Town, and currently Vooruit’s guest-dramaturge in Belgium.
In addition to the panel, organizers will show short videos from Vera Rosner’s and iLdance works. Screenings will include ilDance's documentary film 'Notice, Claim, Repurpose' and Aljazeera‘s film ‘The Dancer Thieves: A Second Chance for Prisoners in Burkina Faso’.
