Encounter

EDN Encounter: Support for the Ukrainian Dance Community (Prague, April 24-26, 2022)

EDN and Tanec Praha organised the Encounter in support of the Ukrainian Dance Community. Guest speakers included EDN members, the international organisation Artists at Risk and the Ukrainian Emergency Performing Arts Fund who shared their experiences in supporting the Ukrainian artistic community as well as artists from Ukraine.

Seminar

Equity in Dance Production (Helsinki, July 1, 2022)

As we are already looking ahead into the EDNext 2023 theme of Equity, EDN and The Ice Hot Nordic Dance Platform invite you to a live discussion (with livestream provided) on equity in dance production on Friday, July 1, 13.30-14.30 (Helsinki time). During the roundtable held at Theatre Museum, Helsinki, artists, producers and artistic directors will talk about strategies to enable more diverse and inclusive dance production. Atelier

EDN Atelier: Breaking the Habits: Rebuilding Sustainability (Sofia, May 10-11, 2022)

The EDN Atelier, co organised and hosted by Derida Dance Center,  took place on May 10 & 11, 2022 in Sofia, one day prior to the beginning of the Bulgarian Dance Platform. Workshops led by Bulgarian and international professionals introduced different approaches to sustainability via highlighting the VR technologies, “accidental recycling” with sound design, artistic projects with ecological focus, and new approaches to stage design.

EDN Atelier in Athens (June 1-2, 2022)

Save the date for the EDN Atelier in Athens, co organised and hosted by  Duncan Dance Center. The EDN Atelier will take place on June 1&2, 2022 in Athens. Together with the Atelier’s participants, the organisers will approach the theme of sustainability from the perspective of artistic practice and inspired by the design of permaculture.

EDN Atelier in Dresden (July 7-8, 2022)

Save the date for the EDN Atelier in Dresden, co-organised and hosted by HELLERAU. The EDN Atelier will take place on 7 & 8 July 2022 in Dresden, in the context of the “Cool Down” Festival of the Alliance of International Production Houses, dedicated to the environmental and sustainability questions and artistic practices in connection to climate change.

Think-In & General Assembly

EDN Think-In & General Assembly in Barcelona (June 28-29, 2022)

EDN Think-In & General Assembly will take place in Barcelona on June 28 & 29, 2022, hosted by Mercat de les Flors during the Grec Festival. During the Think-In & General Assembly, participants will dedicate some time to the network’s formalities and call on the General Assembly to vote for new members of the network and the board, as well as to elect the next president of the board of directors.

The Think-In & General Assembly will also be the opportunity for the members to actively contribute to EDNext’s campaign during a Research and Advocacy Meeting.

Carte Blanche Exchange

Carte Blanche Artist Exchange in Bassano del Grappa (18-21 August 2022)

Between August 18-21, 2022, CSC Bassano del Grappa will host a Carte Blanche Artist Exchange. A 4-day exchange of artistic practices will take place in the frame of the B.motion festival and is designed to build on the outcomes from the Empowering Dance Project by tracing the soft skills in dealing with unpredictability, flexibility, endurance, adaptations and creativity in the context of seasonality and climate change.
