EDN Encounter: Support for the Ukrainian Dance Community (Prague, April 24-26, 2022)

EDN and Tanec Praha invite you to an Encounter in support of the Ukrainian Dance Community. Guest speakers will include EDN members, the international organisation Artists at Risk and the Ukrainian Emergency Performing Arts Fund who will share their experiences in supporting the Ukrainian artistic community as well as artists from Ukraine.

EDN Atelier: Breaking the Habits: Rebuilding Sustainability (Sofia, May 10-11, 2022)

Save the date for the EDN Atelier in Sofia, co organised and hosted by Derida Dance Center. The EDN Atelier will take place on 10 & 11 May 2022 in Sofia, starting one day prior to the beginning of the Bulgarian Dance Platform. Together with the Atelier’s participants, the organisers will approach the theme of sustainability from an institutional production perspective, asking questions about the material being produced, how partnerships are being formed or how new technology imposes new needs of skills.

EDN Atelier in Athens (1-2 June 2022)

Save the date for the EDN Atelier in Athens, co organised and hosted by  Duncan Dance Center. The EDN Atelier will take place on 1 & 2 June 2022 in Athens. Together with the Atelier’s participants, the organisers  will approach the theme of sustainability from the perspective of artistic practice and inspired by the design of permaculture.

EDN Atelier in Dresden (7-8 July 2022)

Save the date for the EDN Atelier in Dresden, co organised and hosted by HELLERAU. The EDN Atelier will take place on 7 & 8 July 2022 in Dresden, in the context of the “Cool Down”  Festival of the Alliance of International Production Houses, dedicated to the environmental and sustainability questions and artistic practices in connection to  climate change. Participants will address the need of radical transformation to achieve sustainable behaviour and initiate ecological rethinking.

Think-In & General Assembly

EDN Think-In & General Assembly in Barcelona (28-29 June 2022)

EDN Think-In & General Assembly will take place in Barcelona on 28 & 29 June 2022, hosted by Mercat de les Flors during the Grec Festival. During the Think-In & General Assembly, participants will dedicate some time to the network’s formalities and call on the General Assembly to vote for new members of the network and the board, as well as to elect the next president of the board of directors.

The Think-In & General Assembly will also be the opportunity for the members to actively contribute to EDNext’s campaign during a Research and Advocacy Meeting.

Carte Blanche Exchange

Carte Blanche Artist Exchange in Bassano del Grappa (18-21 August 2022)

Between 18-21 August 2022, CSC Bassano del Grappa will host the Carte Blanche Artist Exchange. The exchange of artistic practices will complement the “Empowering Dance programme” and focus on tracing the soft skills in dealing with unpredictability, flexibility, endurance, adaptations and creativity in the context of climate change. EDN members are invited to register for participation and travel support of their associated artists, producers and programmers.

The EDN Atelier will be held in Athens on June 1-12, 2022, co-organised and hosted by Duncan Dance Research Center. The Atelier includes lecture/performances, working sessions, installations, collective activities, discussions and more. Atelier is open to EDN members and others. Registration for EDN members and the international participants is May 18, for local participants May 30.

Irish Pilot of Artists Basic Income

EDN member Dance Ireland as a certifying organisation

The Irish Government has launched a new and pioneering pilot scheme to support artists and creative arts workers. The Basic Income for the Arts pilot scheme will examine, over a 3 year period, the impact of a basic income on artists and creative arts workers. The application portal will open at 1pm on Tuesday, April 12, 2022.

Perform Europe’s call for international touring and distribution grants is now open

The applications for step 1 are open until 7 July at 23:59 CEST on the Perform Europe Digital Platform.

This call is open to all performing arts producers (organisations, companies, artists, collectives) and presenters (venues, festivals and any type of organisation offering a presenting context) based in all the Creative Europe countries and in the UK. We are particularly trying to reach out to all the professionals who belong / feel like they belong to an underrepresented group within the performing arts landscape.
