Dance Platforms and Showcases
International dance platforms and choreographic showcases in Europe you might not want to miss.
MoreFrom 29 September to 1 October 2025, UNESCO will host Mondiacult 2025 in Barcelona, the world’s largest cultural policy conference.
Stakes are High
Ministers of Culture, cultural professionals, youth, and civil society representatives from around the world are travelling to Barcelona to set priorities for the future of culture, including cultural rights and digital transformation to education, fair economies, climate, peace, and crisis resilience.
For the dance sector, the stakes are high. Fair pay, artistic freedom, digital transition, sustainable touring, and the safeguarding of intangible heritage are all on the table. The outcomes of this global “policy reset” will shape the frameworks in which dance artists and organisations operate for years to come.
Civil Society Forum
EDN will take part through the Àgora Cívica, the civil-society forum. Here, Gebra Serra will speak to the contribution of dance development organisations in cultivating democratic cultural landscapes, calling for culture to be explicitly recognised in the UN Sustainable Development Goals. #Culture2030Goal
By being present in Barcelona, EDN carries a simple but vital message: dance matters in shaping cultural policy locally, regionally, and internationally.
The Future is in Motion
Despite its innovation and impact, the dance sector remains undervalued, underfunded, and institutionally neglected. Our campaign points to the urgent need for policy reform, to release the transformative power of dance and to ensure that artists, organisations, and communities can contribute to Europe’s future.
Stay tuned for EDN’s campaign and save the date for our advocacy conference, where we call for contemporary dance culture to be recognised as a vital part of Europe’s democratic, cultural, and social fabric.
